My 13 yr old little brother(Marlin3030)who reads this board religiously stayed over this weekend. He made his first post Friday night asking about which muzzleloader to buy. Saturday morning I saw that he had received a reply from bluelk. I woke him up and told him he had a reply to his post. He started getting up slowly. I then told him that the reply was from bluelk. His eyes lit up and he ran to the computer as if Jack O'connor answered his question about .270 or Elmer Keith about revolvers. It was a very nice thing to witness. He talked all day about saving his money up for a great plains because bluelk told him "you get what you pay for".

He harvested his first deer this year with his Marlin 3030 I bought him. He now wants a muzzleloader. I think they are a little too dangerous for a kid his age but if he only hunts and shoots with me it should be fine.

You provide an invaluable service to muzzleloader shooters bluelk. There are probably a lot more lurkers on this board who appreciate and benefit from your advice than you realize, myself included.

I have just started to read the Muzzleloader site and I can not believe how much time Bluelk takes to answer all the questions people have. I have never asked one but might in the future.

MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU BLUELK!!! I only hope that we all can help out as much as you do in our on way. I hope you are able to attend the MM party that everyone is trying to set up, because even though I have not asked of you as others have---I WOULD LIKE TO SHAKE YOUR HAND.

Happy hunting

tuco and BearCat: Thank you very much for your extremely fine comments. I do spend a lot of time answering questionbut its all worth it when I get comments such as yours. tuco: you have that young man call be collect at (623) 925-9911 and I will talk about muzzleloading all he wants.

BearCat: Tell me the time and place and I guarantee you I will be there. It will be my extreme pleasure.

Bluelk,

I wished that there were more on this site like you (are a few). What I mean is that I come to this site to learn and to ask and answer questions. It seems that there are certain forums that are very heated about God/wolves/horses etc. I am not saying that this is not good, because it is my choice to read them. But there is a lot of name calling etc. that goes around because some disagrees with someone's opinion.

Anyway I believe there is a post in the campfire or general hunting where some are trying to start a meeting if your interested. It looks like by your profile you are a ways away from me (Utah). Anyway I just printed off your 8 chapters and I am looking forwar to reading it.

Do not be afraid with your son and a smokepole. He has already passed the hardest test in my book, because he has a father that cares enough to spend time with him!!! I have a son that is 12 and will be going out this year on his first hunt. He is not a die hard hunter, but I am trying---just taking baby steps. Perhaps I will get him set up and he can talk with your son????

Take care friends!

bercat i will be glad to talk to your son not many people my age are intrested in hunting.

BearCat: Utah isn't far at all for me. I am up there quite a bit. Have good friends in Spanish Fork and Bountiful. Keep me posted on whether or not the get together happens and I will make a point of being there.

Marlin3030: I am never too busy to talk to a young man who is interested in muzzleloading. You call anytime you want to. It would be my pleasure to talk to you. You are our future young man. Good luck to you and may the Good Lord take a liken' to you.

Marlin3030,

Thanks I will try to get him on this weekend. I will have him just add on to this link until you guys start your own.

Your friend,
BearCat
