Got this in a email today. Says its 226"

This buck looks every bit of 226" dwarfs that tripod buck that they say goes 222" MASS and TRASH.

You're going to have to define "dwarf". Is that 6" or 3". Check out the forks. I would say if you think that buck is 226 then it shouldn't be too far of a stretch for you to see 222 in this one. A lot deeper forks and great mass along with that long extra tine. Both bucks are complete toads. Yep "Mass and Trash" on both of them.

Marks buck did indeed gross 226 and change and by the looks of the "tripod" buck I would say no doubt that he grosses 222" as well. Solid everywhere with some great trash. Great job on an awesome buck!

top buck has
bigger 2's
equal 3 on one side
more trash
more mass prob 19 on the small side and 20"+ on the trash side
the bottom buck is nice but I wouldnt shoot it, its not impressive to me in the live photos it looks like a buck Id pass, really willow racked.

The Buck scores 222. BUT the huge buck killer would pass because It not a Big buck. Now buddy please put the Bud down and go to sleep.
I'm with Jim on this one, You can see how the 222 buck could be just what they said it was. Even if they post up a score sheet ole Horn wouldn't believe it. Nope that buck is just a small little pisscutter.

It's not my style to call people out on here but if you would pass a buck like that at all, let alone with a bow, let's see some of your keepers. I gotta see this collection!!! I would really like to see your trophies. I know guys that have hunted and continue to trophy hunt mule deer. These are the guys that don't give a damn about anything else but mule deer. Not one of them would pass that deer up. Hell, Prism is about as picky as they come with deer and I'm quite sure he would drop that one in it's tracks. I thought we would have to agree to disagree about the scores but to say you would pass that buck is come serious crap right there!
P.S. I would say, if anything, they shorted that Arizona buck a few inches. Easily a 200" main frame on that Utah buck.

I've had the priviladge of seeing more than my share of monsters over the years, and I don't doubt for one minute the scores shared on the 2 bucks posted in this thread. Actually I too think the AZ buck might have been underscored as well. I betcha the real scoop on Horn star the wanna be porn star has never seen a true monster muley alive on the hoof before. Anyone that has seen and killed monster muleys knows these 2 bucks are freakin BIG!

We did our first out of state hunt together many moons ago.
He came over to my house jacked that he had drawn that strip tag, along with his buddy Jeff.
Jeff was in pursuit of an even bigger buck.
Have not heard if Jeff scored yet, but will soon.
My Gawd how news travels these days.

not good it rained a lot up there so the deer will bot come to water.and he has a new mexico elkhunt that starts the 1st.so the chances of him shooting a big buck were slim.so he decided instead of losing 2 hunts just go to new mexico.is this dustin im speaking too?

Some bucks just don't photo as well as others , just like people,LOL.
The Utah buck has another extra coming off of the back fork on the passenger side that can't be seen in this photo, and although it is not MASSIVE it has average mass for its size and I have no doubts as to its score of 222".
The Strip buck is a BEAST with MASS and will no doubt score 226" and has Curb Appeal that makes it photo well and look even bigger.
This thread points out a couple of the things that are wrong with hunting these days. Too much emphasis placed on score and internet experts calling people out on a photo.

I've been hunting deer 40 years now and I wouldn't pass on either. I have never killed an typical over 200 and my biggest nontypical I believe scored 202. In perspective a lot of people must be a lot better than me if they can pass on either of those Monsters. Good job guys I'm impressed.
