Ouch!!! Glad you can drop some of your lowest scores if needed because a few (many) will need it. I have a goal of trying to harvest a buck over 180 and this buck would of fit the bill in my book. I have added a picture of a buck that hits in the 160 area next to him so you can hopefully see the difference. I would of never of guessed this buck what it was either but between the inside spread and main beams. Also almost a 5 inch eye guard helps those inches. Body is major illusion factor also. This buck neck towards the brisket is over 38 inches. Well good luck on next weeks it is a tricky one also.

Gross Score 185 7/8

Our winner for the week is killab who guessed 187 5/8.

That buck was a tough one. I questioned my score of mid 180's a few times and then took a few inches off. it seemed high but I just couldnt see much less.

so what you're telling me ODB is that if you're guiding me I should shoot the first time you say kill it rather than wait for the reassessment?!:) The depth of the forks on that one threw me way off. I only had him barely 170. What I'm telling you is that you don't want me as your mule deer guide!

It's always an adventure!!!

Well, I just got my first drop score. My fault though. I tried to score him myself using the "paint" feature and estimating the length of the lines based on the width measurement came up with the 147. WAY OFF. I knew it was a bad score when I looked at it again and said to myself - "Add 30 inches to that and you might be close - that is not a 147 buck!". Was going to do it too but got in a hurry to go to lunch and got distracted and just posted the 147 score and when I came back realized I had goofed! Oh well, good thing this is a long contest!

Thanks for the fun and great buck! I truly didn't mean to demean it by posting that low score.

Big everywhere except the 3s. On the "one that got away" stories I'm betting most the lowballers are calling that one 200+

This is one where waiting to post my guess ended up costing me.

I was orginally thinking mid 180's, but after seeing everyone guessing in the 160's and low 170's I really started to second guess myselft thinking everyone can't be that far off.

I guess they were!

I'll have the results up in a bit.

Well, obviously nearly everyone guessed low on this one, but the numbers really show it.

The average guess was 170.879 which was off by 14.997".

The absolute value of the difference on each guess was 15.010" which means there was almost no one that guessed high, in fact the ONLY person to guess high was the winner! ;-)

Scores are about to post in the original contest thread. Please check your results.

Great participation this week with 273 entries! I'll wait until next week to start keeping up with the overall results.

haven't visted MM in a while. droppped in after the winners were announced. Tried my hand at it just for fun before looking at the score. 187 2/8 was my first talley. That buck has a beautiful frame.

The score sheet says it all - tough one to score for most but for me, this buck resembles a buck I shot two years ago that went in the 180's.
The difference with mine is, he had deep G3's but really weak G4's. The main beams and inside spread really helped out the gross score, the similarities between this buck and mine allowed me to accurately judge his score. Very nice buck and I look forward to next weeks score contest - Good luck to all.
