Grand slam?? Desert and Mountain mule deer

How many guys feel you need to shoot both to get your grandslam of deer?
Boone and crockett doesnt think so but i have read alot of people online that say that you need both? I was always under the impression that you just needed whitetail, sitka, columbian, coues and mule deer.

You dont need both rocky and desert for the slam per B&C from what I understand. I did my slam years ago and just did the 5 you mention.......... Thanks, Allen Taylor......

Ya you should. AZ, NM, TX, MX for Desert. Bura you lose man.

Just jk. Personal preference I guess. You can argue they are different species, subspecies, not different, etc, all day long.

I would have to ask, why are you considering a deer slam? Is it part of your "bucket list" or what? And if you are doing for yourself, does it really matter what anyone else thinks?.

My point is, if you want the extra challenge, then add another sub-species, and if you don't, why bother?

It is just something to do, but if your going to do it i just want to make sure that i follow the general standard.
