New Mexico Unit help

Hello everyone, I am trying to plan a trip to New Mexico for a left over Mule deer tag hunt. I've never hunted NM before and I can't seem to figure out which unit I'll have the best opportunities in. I am looking at units 21, 24, 20 and maybe 30. Basically Southern New Mexico. Does anyone have any experience here and can offer any advice? I would be extremely appreciative. It will be my and my 11 yr old sons first NM hunt DIY. Thanks for any input.

Just found out only 24 and 30 are left. Any advice on those two???

I dont hunt the unit but 30 has a ton of deer. With that said, Ill be taking a couple people down to 24 this year, I think there are much bigger deer out that way so I should it would depend on what your looking for. Hope I helped a little.

Thank you. I talked to the gw and they said there are definitely bigger bucks out there. I picked it because of that fact and good looking country. Anyone have any advice on where or area to go? I'm not familiar with NM so I don't even know where to start. Any good maps of the area or information would be great. Thanks again.

Should be able to order national forest maps for the gila part of the unit.

If any body else has some information on unit 24 in NM I would really appreciate the help. Whatever information I have I can also help if someone needs it.
