I have a question for anyone familiar with Southwestern CO mule deer bucks in early September.

Assuming you must start your hunt 7 days after the bow season opens - do you think it makes a difference what dates you pick between 9/1 and 9/7? Specifically mature mule deer bucks hanging out up high above treeline.

In other words, do you think starting 9/1 would be better then starting 9/7 - keep in mind either way bow season will have been open for 1 week. To put it another way will the mature bucks drop down into timber because of hunting pressure, weather, time of year? All 3? Some reasons more then others?

They are Rubbing around the first it seems like and after that they become harder to find .

The earlier the better! Unless you want a hard horned one. After they rub, lots of things could move them into the trees below: hunting pressure, a snow storm, etc.
