i used 165 grain high sierra boat tails on 2 elk and it worked extremly well on them

The best results for my Remington BDL was a Federal Premium 150 grain. I have not used that gun however for at least ten years, and there might be some better ammo for it. The PMC Barnes X, and Nitrex ammo might be an option as well.

Thats too big of a gun for Deer....

You need to buy a .243 It's the Ultimate Deer gun. Only guys that Can;t shoot use 308's and 300 Mags !!!!

Come on Moosie, everyone knows the ultimate deer rifle is the .17 mag. I used to shoot the 308 until I saw the light. I now alternate between the 17 for long distance shots and my pump Daisy pellet gun for anything under 300 yds.

I've actually Switched the the RED Rider Partitions. For a 6 pump velosity to penetrate... it is BY FAR the ultimate gun !!

WOW.. WE have a researcher.... If you'd research a little Further you'd Know that I have 3-300 WIN MAGS in my Safe at home, It's ALL I shoot.
