Hey guys- My family and I reserve the weekend of the 24th every year for some fun mule deer viewing... We have spent a few years in the Book Cliffs as family members have had tags. I did not get my Book Cliffs tag this year, so, we are kind of thinking of going somewhere else.
The plan is to leave on the 24th, and we won't return until the 27th probably. We are torn between heading to the Henry's or to the Paunsagaunt. We have never been to either unit. I'm hoping to get some great film of some awesome bucks.
Now I know the Henry's is "better" for giant deer, but I'm wondering if the extra time to get to the Paunsy will result in better access to seeing great deer..? Most footage I see of the Henry's looks like the deer are not very close to any roads in the summer. Am I wrong about that..?
Also, we would like the possibility of not driving the truck. Gas is a beast these days so we may like to take another vehicle if it is possible on either of these units...
I'd appreciate any input guys. Of course, any footage I get will go up here on MM. I'm no pro, but I do pretty well for a young guy with a handheld.
