Colorado Early Season Changes???

Unless I am missing something the early rifle HCB season is now after the ML season.

Looks like ML start on Sep 8-16 and the rifle hunts start Sep 15-23.

Is this the way you read it?

That is correct. Only it was changed for some units and not others.

I like it. Only I might not feel that way if i had a HC rifle tag in hand.

I don't! Its nice to harvest a nice Velvet buck and to still find all the bucks grouped together. After the velvet get rubbed off they seem to be harder to find.

I read on bowsite it is because of the hikers. So the hikers and rifle hunters don't run into each other or something like that.

I read where the High Country Buck-rifle- dates have been moved to Sept. 15th opener after the mzzy deer and elk hunt dates.
HCB units affected are:

Holy Cross Wilderness-44....

Maroon Bells/SnowMass Wilderness--43....

Hunter-FryingPan Wilderness-47

Eagle's Nest Wilderness-36...

I wonder if this will increase the mzzy buck applicants in these units and decrease the rifle HCB applicants..

Pleasedear, I was thinking the same thing. It'll be interesting to see how this affects the point requirements for the early rifle hunts and muzz tags for the same units...
