Antleope unit 021

I was wondering if any body knew anthing about 021 and 022. I drew an antelope tag for this unit. It looks like a large unit, with a small population of goats. But looking at the success rates for the last few years, they are near 100%. Any info we would be great. Thanks

There used to be some goats out on the north side of the dogskins and north of winnemucca ranch road. I have never seen any south of the dogskins. Good luck

I've spent quiet a bit of time up there shooting yotes, and i've been on a couple of deer hunts up there. I saw a couple good goats between the dogskins and the moonrocks(or what ever there called). They mainly stay toward the north part of that big valley in between the to ranges.

Thanks for the info. My wife drew an 011 antelope tag so I need to figure out which unit to go to first. She drew with 1 point,i wasn't figuring on two antelope hunts in Nevada. Any body hunt011 before. I going to head there for first, before heading to 021. Thanks

I have seen goats from Bird Springs Rd at Red Rock Rd, clear to the other end of the valley toward the Dogskins and Sand Hill mesa with everything in between. There are about three or four real nice bucks out in the area. You'll find them out there if you look close.

I just saw a nice buck standing with two muley does on the north end of sand hills.

I have seen a couple of resident goats that hang around the waterholes near Big Dog road off of Winnemucca Ranch Road.

i saw a real nice goat right off of red rock road he was close to 16 for sure.good luck it should be a fun hunt

Thanks for the info. I can't seem to find red rock road on my blm maps. Sounds like a real nice goat, this will be my first antelope hunt. I read that the population is supposed to be around 250 for this unit. Does'nt sound like very many goats in such a large area. I was also wondering if this is considered a good trophy area. Thanks

doe, Red Rock is right of hwy 395 north of Reno. I have never hunted the units before but I heard Jaksick killed his 94 B&C in unit 022 last year. Good luck on your hunt Ryan
