This is a photo of my brother in law and his buddy with some elk that they shot in Sask Canada last week. I believe that the elk were shot on a game ranch. I don't want to start a big debate about ethics, but I thought that you guys might like to see the picture.

nice bulls.Only thing bad about that is you cant bring the meat back into the states.they start out around 5 grand and go up from there. My friend just took hid dad who is not well on the same hunt.there will be some that say this is bs but I know now why my friend did it and it was a good thing.end of story.

If the Elk is processed up there in Sas., why can't it be brought back in to the USA? As long as no brain matter and or spinal cord there shouldn't be any problem.
But then I guess it depends which state you re-enter USA through too, some are worse than others.

Are you saying that because it's on a game farm, it can't be imported?

The reason I ask is that I didn't have any problem bringing game meat back last week. I just smuggled it through US customs, right under their noses. They didn't even care to look in the cooler when I pointed out what was in it.

It wasn't that hard. I went to the inspection station, filled out one piece of paper, and was trough.

that's what my friend told me.All they got to bring back was the head.and yes it was on a farm.

If it was a farm as noted, the farm probably keeps the meat to sell anyway. Anotehr way of turning still more bucks. I've seen a number of buffalo hunts like that. Want the meat you pay extra for it.
