Has anyone bought a pair of these yet? I'm looking to see how accurate and consistent the rangefinder is, along with the binocular clarity. I had trouble with my original Leica rangefinder not giving me the same reading (off by 4 yards at times) while standing in the same spot! Any first hand experience with the product would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I bought a the first pair to come to our area. Hunted our late archery Blacktail hunt Nov.-Dec. w/ them.

The optics are awesome, compared to my Nikon ATB's.

The range finder worked very well, very accurate. No difference in readings like you described. I ranged elk past 900 yds. and stumps on hillsides past 1300 yds. Like my Nikon 800 it didn't like the fog. Did fine in moderate to heavy snow fall and rain.

Hope this helps.

AxisBuck:

First off welcome to MosnterMuleys. Secondly, thanks for the input. I'm really thinking about getting a pair of these, just trying to get some honest product review first. Thanks again.

Welcome to Monster, Gargantuan, Godzillalike, Muscle bound Muleys AxisBuck. Did I get enough adjetives in there? fatrooster.

Thanks for the welcome.

Looking forward to reading lots of good info. and stories. I'll try and contribute when I can.

Already purchased an Eberlestock Just One based on feedback from this site and other info.

Anyone else have input on the Leica BRF 10x42???

Take care, Kurt (AxisBuck)

Roy call me when you get back. I just got mine and they are incredible. Was ranging stuff in the dark in a rain storm at home the other night. The bino quality is as good as it gets to. I instantly feel in love with them.

No more packing your range finders on your belt. I can't wait to range a big ole' muley buck with em' They are worth every penny.

Jeremy:

Wally just got back from the archery buyer's group in Reno and said the quality is awesome! However, the range finder button is on the LEFT side of the bino?????? Can you reach the button while holding your bow in your left hand? Probably an oversight by most rifle hunters, but for us bowbenders that may be a problem. Any thoughts????

Roy,

Glad to hear from ya. The button is on the left side of the Leica's, but I am able to do everything with my right hand. I can use my middle, birdie, finger to push the button and it works pretty good. I have some long fingers however. I would pull out your bino's and see if you can just imagine were the button would be and see if it will work for ya.

I bought a set in the 8x42 about a month ago. Have been very pleased with them so far. Optically I don't think I have given up anything from the Swarovski 10x42 ELs I had been using. Haven't hunted with them yet, but in using them to range elk, etc. the rangefinder seems accurate and easy to use.

Hey thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I'm trying to work out a deal with leica to send me a pair to test and see if the button will be a problem. Hopefully it will work out.
