Anyone know anything about the new 325 WSM? Good, bad ugly? Seems to be a nice combo of speed and power. If you had to chose between the 300 & 325 which one would you pick?

I went with the 300WSM. The ballistics are just as good as the 325WSW, do not really understand why they made the 325WSM.
Shooting sub-moa with 180 gr. Barnes Triple Shock's.
The 300WSM ballistics are between a 300 WIn MAG and a 300 WBY Mag. I had the 300 WBY Mag and much prefer the 300 WSM.

The ballistics of th 325 are great IMO, should be a great elk caliber. Bullet selection is low, far too low for me to consider one. The other thing is I've heard far to many reports of jamming problems with the short mags, enough that I won't be buying one anytime soon. The last thing I want is the gun jammed when I need to put another shot into an elk.

I have never had a 300WSW jam or ever heard about it until now. Take a look at the same 180 grain factory loaded bullet in a 300WSM and 325WSM.........see what I mean, not enough to matter. The 300WSM has alot of different factory loads available. The 325WSM is very sparse on loads. The 325 WSM will handle 220 grain loads.
Take a look at what you want to use it for.
I liked the 300WSM with alot of 180 grain loads for ealk and also able to shoot 150 grain out of it for deer.

I have been struggling with the same decision of 300WSM or 325WSM. Studied it a while, here's what I know.
As for ballastics @ muzzle and 400 yards: Ballistic Silvertip 180g

Really a wash as he mentions. More bullet selection with the 300WSM. Haven't been able to find a gun or shells yet for the 325. Also, 300WSM is also slightly better than the 300Win Mag.
As for the guns, I have been looking at the Browning A-bolt SS Stalker. BOSS feature not available on 325. I spoke with Browing, and BOSS will not be available for 2-3 years. Others on here have discussed BOSS/Magna-port and feel they definently help recoil but the loudness is unbelieveable. I don't want to wear hearing protection while hunting. Can't sight it in with the BOSS then remove it for hunting. So I have concluded I will get a 300WSM and save the $50 and skip the BOSS. Anyone have other thoughts, I'm still willing to listen. Thanks.

Well after looking at all the numbers, I finally decided on the 300 WSM. (Sako Finn light) The pro's of the .300 out weight the 325 in my mind. Maybe if the 325 becomes more popular and there are a ton of bullet selections and options, I will consider it fot the future.
