Has anyone experimented much with molly coated bullets? Did you coat your own or did you buy the pre-coated bullet? What was your impression of the stuff?

I've shot some in the 22's. Haven't shot enough to say one way or another (<500). The bore "looks" cleaner after shooting. They are slippery and a PITA to hang onto. I bought precoated.

There is ongoing argument about their benefits. I don't remember any of it except that it was ponderous. Gun nutz are an opinionated and ornery bunch.

I have shot alot of moly coated bullets
I moly coat myself
I shoot a lazzeroni warbird which uses 105 grains of powder and if I don't moly coat I have to clean the barrel every 4 to 5 shots unless accuracy goes to hell
If I moly coat I can shoot over 15 rounds between cleanings and after 1500 rounds through the rifle the throat and barrel still looks great. before burger bullets sold his outfit i talked extensively about moly coating and he is a big believer and so am I now.
one trick is you have to buy a seperate vibrating case cleaner the smallest one due to it makes a mess to clean.sometimes I think it's easier to buy bullets alwready moly coated. buy without a doubt I shoot a tighter group with less pressure and slightly higher velocity's
In my opinion it's all good
