This was my second choice, I have never hunted this area before. Any help on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your second choice. You will have a blast. I hunted this unit last year. Lots of action. Could have arrowed a 6 point bull every day, but most were 320 or less. I did see and pursue several bulls over 350. Finally tagged an assymetrical bull on the last day (353 if the right side matched the left...only saw the left side when I shot). Sitting on tanks can be good (treestand) but I just can't do it. I rec'd some good info on this forum last year and scouted a bunch and hunted hard almost every day of the hunt so I can help you depending on your physical ability, preferences for cedar vs fir trees, time available to scout, etc. Send me a PM.

I'm in the same boat with the same tag - 1st AZ elk tag to date. I can get up to scout 2-3 weekends between now and then and have no preference on terrain or limitations on physical ability - where ever the bulls are is where I want to be. Without putting me right next to AZ Bulls, any pointers are appreciated. Thanks.
