BShunter or anybody in Winslow

I have a friend who was chosen for a limited any elk archery hunt starting this weekend. According to the info, these elk are right outside the Winslow city limits. Anybody have any info? For more details pm me & I'll go into more detail. Thanks!

AZtrophyhunter, I haven't looked at the regs lately so I don't know what the boundaries are for that hunt, and I don't know much about that heard, but I am pretty sure they stay close to the river, and the agriculturial fields, I do know that some of the Hancocks from Winslow own some of that property, he might be able to get hold of some of those folks and get some info. Alright, sounds good. I appreciate the help! Kinda crazy that there are elk living within the Winslow city limits. It's crazy where these animals are moving to these days.

Had that hunt two years ago on a left over cow tag, saw ten different bulls and only about 25 cows, the herd hangs near the park on the east edge of the hunt area, Also look around the edge of the res. to the north. The bulls were bulgling good that year and you could call them all day, if you spend sometime in there it is a easy hunt. good luck , I shot you an email with my number to call Andy

When I was 12 I lived on the east side of Winslow just north of the freeway and about a 1 1/2 miles west of the Little Colorado. Where exactly is this area your talking about?
