I saw a picture at work today that a guy brought in, of a bull that apparently was shot in the bitteroot wilderness, which if im not mistaken is in montana? He said his brother works with the guy that shot it. Has this already been posted on here, i couldnt find it if it has. But the bull was taken with a bow, and has a outside spread of i believe it was 79 inches. This bull was an absolute monster. The e-mail said it gross'd 575 and will be around 535 when officially scored. Im trying to find out some more info, because i dont believe it. I think it was raised on a farm, or it was just a really good photoshop job. On the other hand, he said his brother has the color 3x5 pictures to prove it. Anyone know or heard anything about this amazing bull. It was unlike anything id ever seen before.

The picture was posted on ifish.net also selway bitterroot bull. I will believe it when I see the bull in the record books. I think I saw the picture last year somewhere so I am not sure about it. Seems kind of fishy. It is not on the boone and crockett trophy watch so who knows. It looks like a high fence elk to me . Time will tell !

Uhhhhh....
I think this one is even bigger!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-28-06 AT 08:45PM (MST)[p]I received the same e-mail today showing that "Bitterroot-Selway" Bull that is suppose to have been a 575". BUT, I have seen it on here recently as it was posted by someone else.
I think it was a good Photoshop job and now is going around the circuit.
Here it is, you decide?

Well if I shot a bull that big on a fenced hunt, I wouldn't be smiling either...

There are more pictures on another 'site' that show the rack and cleaned skull. According to the other pictures, the rack is real, but where it came from is still a mystery.

Bitteroot Selway---------That is Idaho.........THere are no elk in MT:):) If you want to go chase these fake elk, go to Idaho....

saw pictures of a bull from saskatchewan they thought would go about 575 but the main beam on right side was broke an est. 35 inches. also said it weighed an est. 1300 pounds. it was shot with a muzzeloader by a guy in az. the main beams above the thirds was supposed to be like 11.5 - 12 inches

The shooter was from Arizona/ truck had AZ plates ( two hunters)... They stopped at Payson Sports on the way home. Shot in Saskatchewan. He told me two shots .
I would sure like to see a pic if anyone has it?

You can't possibly expect us to believe that's the same bull....I mean look its got that fuzzy stuff all over its antlers that the bull in the pictures above is missing. You'll have to do better than that!

Why on earth do I need to keep looking at this "thing?":)

Will the moderators please nuke everything that says SCI, high fence, Selway-Bitterroot, and New World Record! Uuugggh!

Will someone doctor my bull and make him 792 and put it in an email and send it around the world?;-) Tell them it was shot just off the Florida Keys.

If I have to see that damn elk one more time I am quitting MM and never coming back! This elk is like a chappy butt hole problem that I cannot fix!

Have you tried Preparation H? :)

Now here's a bit more. This bull has supposedly also been a sperm donor on some elk farm in Canada.

Just imagine a "man on the street" interview with the collector:

And what do you do for a living, sir?

I'm a professional elk semen gatherer, eh.

Wow, that must be a tough job.

No, it's actually very easy, eh. My business partner and I just dress like a cow elk and take turns bending over, eh.

The man that harvested this bull was able to set up in a Coleman lawn chair next to this corn feeder. The chair was in a camo pattern and made of scent lock material so as to not scare it away.
It was a hard hunt, almost went through 2 12 packs before the illusive beast appeared at 10am.

This bull supposedly came from http://www.pinemountainoutfitters.com/index.php in northern Saskatchewan.

Prices below listed on the web site. -TONY

Well, one pic has a live bull in it. The other is a just the skull?

The pic on the right was probably taken in July, the kill pic was taken probably a month later after the growing had finished.

The B & C Trophy Watch Page has added that the bull is rumored to be a game farm kill from Quebec, CA. This is unconfirmed, but is posted on their page.

the live pic was taken early, probably what Sneak said and in early July....

I'm sorry but these repeated high fenced, FARM RAISED elk pictures that keep being posted on here are BS. Leave that crap off this site. Go post it somewhere else. ITS NOT HUNTING BY ANY MEANS, and these people that harvest and pose with these farm raised animals like they are some kind of trophy are pathetic.

I was going to make this a seperate post, but decided that this topic has been talked about numerous times, although I do take it very seriously as it jeopeordizes all of us as TRUE hunters.

I had the opportunity to witness a Farm raised bull get shot about a week and a half ago. I stopped to use the restroom on a pull off spot that over looks some of this "outfits" property.(right along the highway)All of which is enclosed by a 10-12 foot fence. I noticed a few elk up on the top of a ridge feeding. One six point and a smaller rag. Not two seconds later, BOOM...BOOM...BOOM he was down. About 10 seconds later 5 guys came walking off the ridge. I proceeded to yell, "FAIR CHASE" then got in my truck and drove home. It was on the Royal Rut Game Preserve located near Helper, UT. I got on their website only to find out that they advertise Boone and Crockett scores with the elk that are shot off their property. This drove me into a frenzy. I am currently speaking with some peopole from B&C to see if we can get it taken care of.

I e-mailed [email protected] to see if I could get some sort of response as to why they would portray their farm-raised elk in that fashion. I wrote...

Hello,

Just wondering how you are advertising Boone and Crockett on your bull kills, when B&C states, "Tenet IV of the Entry Affidavit states that game "confined by artificial barriers, including escape-proof enclosures" are not taken according to the standards of fair chase established by B&C, and as such do not meet the requirements for entry."????

(I LOVE THEIR STATEMENT HERE)Your website reads, "We stand by our guarantee, but these bulls are wild animals in thick country and are on the move." Maybe you should re-state that to, "these bulls are pen raised and offer no comparison to real FAIR CHASE elk hunting."

It's obvioulsy all about the $$ in these cases, but it's sad to see how these types of services degrade the true meaning of hunting. I'm looking forward to a response on your pen raised bulls that you're tying B&C to.

Thanks for your time.

Justin

This photo is circulating the internet at World's Record pace. The text accompanying the photo states that it was taken in the Selway Wilderness in Idaho with a bow and scores somewhere between 530-575.
B&C is reserving judgment on this bull. If this bull were, in fact, taken as a natural, free-ranging, wild, native elk from the Selway region of Idaho, it would be approximately 130-150 inches bigger than any elk ever recorded from that region.

UPDATE: This bull was raised in a high-fenced environment in Quebec, and therefore ineligible to be entered into B&C's records program.
