I'm sorry but these repeated high fenced, FARM RAISED elk pictures that keep being posted on here are BS. Leave that crap off this site. Go post it somewhere else. ITS NOT HUNTING BY ANY MEANS, and these people that harvest and pose with these farm raised animals like they are some kind of trophy are pathetic.
I was going to make this a seperate post, but decided that this topic has been talked about numerous times, although I do take it very seriously as it jeopeordizes all of us as TRUE hunters.
I had the opportunity to witness a Farm raised bull get shot about a week and a half ago. I stopped to use the restroom on a pull off spot that over looks some of this "outfits" property.(right along the highway)All of which is enclosed by a 10-12 foot fence. I noticed a few elk up on the top of a ridge feeding. One six point and a smaller rag. Not two seconds later, BOOM...BOOM...BOOM he was down. About 10 seconds later 5 guys came walking off the ridge. I proceeded to yell, "FAIR CHASE" then got in my truck and drove home. It was on the Royal Rut Game Preserve located near Helper, UT. I got on their website only to find out that they advertise Boone and Crockett scores with the elk that are shot off their property. This drove me into a frenzy. I am currently speaking with some peopole from B&C to see if we can get it taken care of.
I e-mailed
[email protected] to see if I could get some sort of response as to why they would portray their farm-raised elk in that fashion. I wrote...
Hello,
Just wondering how you are advertising Boone and Crockett on your bull kills, when B&C states, "Tenet IV of the Entry Affidavit states that game "confined by artificial barriers, including escape-proof enclosures" are not taken according to the standards of fair chase established by B&C, and as such do not meet the requirements for entry."????
(I LOVE THEIR STATEMENT HERE)Your website reads, "We stand by our guarantee, but these bulls are wild animals in thick country and are on the move." Maybe you should re-state that to, "these bulls are pen raised and offer no comparison to real FAIR CHASE elk hunting."
It's obvioulsy all about the $$ in these cases, but it's sad to see how these types of services degrade the true meaning of hunting. I'm looking forward to a response on your pen raised bulls that you're tying B&C to.
Thanks for your time.
