Wyoming Pref. Points??

Just making sure I understand this right.....Being a non-resi I am going to just purchase a preference point for Elk this year. You can not or do not need to purchase the point until July 1st? Is this correct?

Page 4 of Regs states that July 1st- Sept.30th for Pref. Point Only and by using Form 30 Available via Web Site.

How many years has Wyoming been using preference points for deer and elk? I was told at the big show that they started last year. Is this true?

Yes, last year was the first year.

2006 was the first year that WY began the preference point system for elk, deer, and antelope. 2006 was the first year that a hunter could accumulate a point. 2007 will be the first year that the preference points will count in the drawing.

Wrong 4 X 4!!!! You guys on Monster Muleys got me hooked for life. I finally got a decent (for me anyway) 4 X 4 in WY that is about 20" wide. No trophy but I don't get hung up on scoring points anyway. I saw more deer by far than I ever have and can't wait to go back next year. Some of the regulars on here helped me narrow the search down to Region D. Hopefully, my faithful GMC will haul me back out west a few more times.
