Okay here's what I now know. They have served search warrants, and confiscated 2 big bull elk and 2 big 4 point bucks. This was in Circleville. One person is 20 yrs old- one person is 18 yrs old. Waiting DNA results on another elk, and possibly tying two more people into the poaching. Here's the real killer!- you'd think the locals would be upset at these 'kids'. but instead are really pissed at the DWR for doing their job ! ! Thats' what I hear.
The Judge in Piute Co. and the County Attorney just might could use some "encouragement" to really nail these guys.
Keep it nice and keep it civil,if you do write- but it should be pointed out that by poaching these guys have taken it upon themselves to utilize a public resource that they had no legal right to. In essence they stole from anyone else who had the opportunity to draw one of those limited entry tags, or a southern deer tag. Maybe mention, the essentially, once in a life time opportunity the rest of us -who are law abiding- are waiting for and hoping for.
I've heard these are record class animals -the bucks over 30" the Elk near 400, but I'm still trying to verify an actual size
