What can you guys tell me about this area? I drew a big bull tag for archery!

I'm psyched, it was my 3rd choice and I had very few bonus points! What is access like and what kind of elk numbers are there? Thanks!

Michael

You guys ever ever hunted for big bulls with a bow???? I have a lot from Stampede pass to the manashtash ( and out of state as well). I have to look at the maps and see what I can help with. I also have some good friends in Ellensberg that will know some good stuff and I wil give them a call. Way to go!

Nope, cant say that I've ever hunted bulls with a bow before! If you could give any info at all that'd be great! I got a good caller that'll be bringing the bulls in so that's covered! I've also sent out emails and such to various people who may know a thing or two... I'm still in shock though that I drew this tag!

Nice job Michael! I'm jealous! Excellent tag to get, bulls everywhere. I have been in that unit alot and I would recommend any area's that are not easy access. The bulls get call shy and seem to get hammered by buglers. Hunt the last week of the season. Shouldn't be a problem finding a nice bull! Good luck!

Congrats on drawing one of the best elk tags around. I may be one of the guys Lemondog is talking about. I live near the area and have seen some real bruisers (350+) in those units and a lot of my buddies have taken some nice bulls there. The good thing about your tag is that you got a crack at some good bulls on public land. The north end of the unit near Cle Elum is really good, but mostly private. Good luck and PM me when it gets closer to the hunt; i'll let you know what i've been seeing.

Pm's and emails returned! I just got back from a 3 day pack trip up Pyramid mountain with 13 guests for Icicle Outfitters and it was a LOT of work! But fun too... lol
Thanks so much guys I got 3 days off and go back to work friday... some of you will be hearing more from me! I'm thinking of heading up there wednesday/thursday... so if you got anything more to say give me a holler!
