I am posting these pictures for a friend of mine Jesse Tatman. Jesse,myself and some other friends were hunting in Nevada this past week. I am unsucessfull thus far but here are some pictures of Jesse's Monster bull. I dont have anything set in stone on the score but as you can see he should score well.

Congrats Jesse

those things are huge, both in antler and in body, congrats to your friends and good luck.

The name is not in the Successful Draw list, must be a land owner tag. Sure is a great Bull and congrats to the hunter.

Brian

I like the picture with the black soil from fire under the bull and rocks in the background thats a very nice looking bull.
Good Job

LAST EDITED ON Dec-01-07 AT 12:48PM (MST)[p]I'm not sure wich unit in Nevada. I believe it was a landowner tag though. I was told it scored 387. The taxidermist scored it at 384.

Great bull and awesome background on the pictures. It is ok to smile though. I don't get the whole tough guy pictures that everyone seems to take anymore. Congrats again.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-02-07 AT 01:22PM (MST)[p]I agree on the smiling, act like you are a little happy!! Also don't understand the different backgrounds with the bull. Did these guys have a front end loader up there to move the bull around to different areas to take pictures?? Anyway, congrats on a nice bull. Hope a some point it brings a smile to your face.

384? I see it. I am no pro at guessing, but it looks that big to me. That bull is a stud regardless. Can I ask what does not look 384 about this bull? Good mass, beams, tines, what is missing?

Rathole,

Do what I do. Just show a pic and leave score out. People always want to call you a Utard or liar!;-)

Great bull! I'm with ktc, who cares (I can see this bull going that big) just post the pics.

Yeah the scenery pics are confusing, probaly had 10 others out looking for bulls too

Great bull...and rugged country. You all look so sad, were you pissed at the cameraman?
Congrats to all.

Who cares about the score. Looks like a nice bull.

With that being said, I am with bumper, I do not see 380. The first 3 points on each side do not appear to be any longer than 14-16 inches. The side profile with the antlers laying alongside the body makes the main beams look like the are probably not 50 inches.

Nice tops though.

330 seems more appropriate. But who really cares.

330 is as insult to that bull. I was there and I know for a fact it will break the 370 mark.

ok bonepiler..lets see being conservative

Mains = 100
spread = 40
mass = 60
1st = 15 x 2 30
2nd = 16 x 2 32
3rd = 18 x 2 36
4th = 22 x 2 44
5th = 16 x 2 32

total 374

... what don't you see???? I agree with KTC this is a BIG bull very symmetrical. will easily score over 380... nice job

LAST EDITED ON Dec-07-07 AT 02:56PM (MST)[p]330? I would bet my left nut that bull is closer to 380 than 360 gross let a lone 330! I have not put a tape on him so I do not know, but it sure as hell is not 330.

Seems like many MM people low-ball the score when it is not their bull or buck. This is why I never post score. It always starts a debate.

HAHAHA--You guys don't have to prove anything to me. I could care less. It is a nice bull. I just don't see much mass and pretty short fronts for a 380 bull, and the main beams don't make up for the deficiency in these areas. Wow KTC, you are good to come up with those numbers from a picture. I am not cutting this bull down, don't get me wrong. But I guess I will have to re-score some of the bulls my family and friends have killed with the modern method. Couple of them ought to go 400. 330 might be a low ball, I would have to put the tape on the antlers myself before anyone is going to convince me it is 380. But like I said, I dont care, nice bull, I would have shot him.

Easy bonepiler!

I have looked at, measured, and been on several hunts where big bulls were killed in the last 5 years. My bull was within 2 inches of what I scored him at and what the official got. I know that does not mean squat officially on this Nevada bull. However, I do feel like I can reasonably judge elk. In my ESTIMATION, this bull has a minimum of 30" more than 330. The only way I feel this bull would be any less than 360 minimum, is if they are real good at photography. Just my opinion there buddy! :)

LAST EDITED ON Dec-08-07 AT 09:57AM (MST)[p]the reason i dont get too involved with sites like this is there always seems to be some SOB that has to bring in some negativity to everything that is great! I can appreciate your opinion bone piler but you do need to go back thru your familys horns. Atrain you are pretty darn good at looking at a picture. His beams are 51 and 52 and one 5th is 15 4/8 with the other 16 2/8. I did not write it all down so i cant go thru each tine (nor should i have to) but take my word for it he is a 380 gross bull! I own Currant Creek Outfitters and we took this bull with Jesse as one of our guides. We know how to use a tape and dont like being mocked. This is the reason you guys dont get to see more pictures because of guys like bonepiler. Me, i like seeing lots of pictures of what hunters harvest. I know there are a bunch of inflated scores but those of us that know better and are confident with our own abilities and judgements just smile and move on.
We do have a bunch of pictures with big smiles and if i knew how to add one i would. Also there were three tag holders and two helpers. We only moved him a few feet and three of us is all it took. Amazing how much people read into a picture. THanks to all of the guys that just complimented the bull. I would have shot him w/o hesitation!

I am the lucky hunter that harvested this big bull. Just wanted to set the record straight.Weather this bull scores 330 or 400 (myself or anyone that would know never claimed what my bull would score) I am not going to complain. I have been hunting and killing elk for 20 years this is my 21st bull that I have killed to date. I was just as proud of the spikes I killed as a youth as I am of this bull. My friends and I hunt and guide other hunters for the enjoyment of the hunt and, being in the outdoors.For all of you checking the stats this was a land owner tag. As you will see in the photo's we took the first one in the dark the night the bull was killed. The other photo's were taken the next morning.Thank you to all my friends and family that were there and enjoyed the hunt with me.I may not be smiling in the photo's but believe me when your doing what you love your always happy.

I would shoot this bull regardless of score. He is very nice and big. It is too bad that people have to assume people are lying when a score is posted. Most did not do this and complimented the bull. Like I said before, not that it matters, I see 380. Landowner tag? Who cares what kind of tag it is or how many people helped? I know this got questioned and bashed also.

Yeah, some smiles would be nice, but I know how it is. Pretty hard to smile when you are exhausted and see a moster bull laying in the sage and the real work is about to begin.

You will enjoy looking at this big guy on your wall!

I would shoot that bull in any LE. What a great looking elk. We harvested a bull in the 320-330 range last year and it wasn't even close to that bull. I wouldn't be surprised if that bull is over 380. What matters most is you are happy with it!

Congrats to him.
That last photo is great. It shows his body mass and his rack very well at the same time.

Congrats on a great bull. I love your reasons for hunting/guiding, I am right there with you. I will be lucky enough to hunt for a bull for myself in 2008, I HOPE to get within bow range of a bull of this calliber. Nicley done, and very nice pics. I like it when a little extra time is taken to 'present' the animal.
