That was my first thought also, but just saying it don't make it so. What do you see in the picture that makes you so sure?

First clue would be it is a monster bull,
second would be the two main roads you can
see, third would be all the cabins around it.

I would like to know what farm it came from,
it almost looks like an elk farm around Mancos
Colorado, just before you drop down into Durango.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-08 AT 01:47PM (MST)[p]just for some clarification or more info on the email i received. This is exactly what it said, " THIS IS A 540 CLASS BULL TAKEN IN COLO
> ON A PRIVATE RANCH HUNT HE PAID $127,000 FOR IT"
I'm just curious where in CO and how many shots.
Still a heck of a beauty. not $127K beauty though.

That bull is the new World Record:
Killed in Selway area of Idaho.
Many people think the Selways is more remote than this pic may look, but actually it is laced with roads.

As big as these photos may make this bull look, his official total net Boone & Crockett score is.........
ZERO.

From what i've been told that bull was taken on a Elk farm in Colorado I want to say down around Walden and the guy paid somewhere around $100,000 to shoot it. I laugh that this guy considers himself a hunter. And the camo??? Whats up with that I bet you really needed that ha ha

Pic. is way old but I am wondering where the ear tags have gone. I agree Boone and Crocket score A BIG FAT 0 so very not impressed.

I dont see a red deer anywhere ? I was on a private ranch w/ some exotics near collbran,co a long time ago and the country looks identical. He also had some high fence hunts for elk. Maybe the same place? It isnt a free roaming elk though, Im sure. Gary

I get it bowhunt and I did LOL.

I know for a fact this bull was taken deep in the Idaho wilderness. It took them 7 days to pack it out on their pack string of dwarf goats. They did get the bull out in one load though. Their hard work finally paid off. I bet their kids would be proud.

Sincerely,

Poacher

That is indeed a ranch bull. I have actually handled that rack. The rack is so big, that it doesn't even look real. Funny part is, they stained the rack before taking it to the taxi. The bull did indeed have an ear tag too, as did his buddy's bull...

bowhunt , LMAO,,,thanks ....that elkzilla is a big mo fo...give me $127k and I'd shoot me a farm raised brute too...

Could be he was killed up near Ely , in NV "White Pine" country....LOL

LAST EDITED ON Apr-19-08 AT 07:34PM (MST)[p]Again...That high fence in the background in the second pic is sweet! I heard he was rubbing on the wild chalk trees that grow on that ranch...

Oh yeah, you can see the high fence behind the right shoulder of the gnome wearing the red shirt in the little dirt draw...

Authority??? uh how about he talked to the ranch manager about he was sent the email of this bull by a guy who knows the ranch manager

LOL, There ya go JB. "Fully Accredited"

Another hunting website debunked this "bull elk" a while back. It WAS shot in Colorado and it was shot in a cage, ie., high fence. So Coloradoboy, which high fence preserve was this bull killed on then?

Man you guys have short memories. The guy that shot it had the balls enough to enter it in the MM Bucks and Bulls contest. Needless to say, he was punted out of the contest. :)

The other day I saw a show on Keith Warren Outdoors.

They were "Elk Hunting" in a place in Colorado I think it was called Black Canyon Bulls.

After the show as over I sent an e-mail to see how big an operation they had.

They "hunt" behind high fence on 500 acres! They use permanent blinds.

Prices are $3,900 for 300 pt bulls, up to 400 point bulls are $12,500 and over 400 pt bulls are POR (price on request).

Unreal, 500 acres????? You got to be some kind of "sportsman" to want to do that.

Wonder how far he made it out of the corral before he got slammed with a hundred thousand dollar bullet ;-) hopefully not to far diesel for the tractor would have been twenty G's More!!

Dude, they don't even need corrals for freak pets like this. You know how to call a bull like this in? You whistle, call his name out, and shake the old coffee tin with some oats in it. Upon hearing his name, the "elk" that is being called will start thinking about candy apples and oats and come running. When he is within range, the "hunter" reaches out and clips a lead rope onto the bull's halter. He then walks said "elk" over to the tractor, ties the lead to the front of the loader, and delivers the coups de grace.

Once the ear tag is removed the "hunter" celebrates his kill, because that is what high fence hunters do; they choose not to hunt but only to kill. I'm not beyond taking pictures of my own harvested animals but do so knowing that I have hunted hard for wild game in a fair and sporting manner. Furthermore, I'm always relieved when I finally know that I will have a freezer full of high protein, low fat, wild meat for the winter. Did the guy who killed this oversized poodle really post these pictures on the website back in the day?
