Last week was exciting. I came upon a bear at 30 years and a cougar at about 60 yards within 3 days of one another. In this same area, I had pictures of a different bear and cub on my trail cam.
The bear in this photo had cubs and was snapping her teeth and hissing at me. I yelled at her and she didn't even flinch. After 3-4 minutes of filming I left. She never did back down.
2 days later, I came upon this cougar who was sneeking through the bushes. I had good wind so he never saw me.
Just around the corner was a group of bedded cows and calves that he was hunting.
I am up in the hills a lot and don't often see either of these animals this close. Pretty cool.
