I had that 114-115 Muzzle tag last year. It is a great area.

I put in for 114-115 rifle this year.

Res deer-3 points. 1st choice-muzz in area 10. 2nd choice-muzz in area 7. 3rd choice-early rifle area 10. Etc.

Res bull elk-4 points. 1st choice-rifle in the Ely area. 2nd choice-rifle in Jarbidge area. Etc.

Also put in for everthing else. Mountain goat, all species of sheep.

I wish I had a plan "b" I was supposed to draw this year for elk, but once again my credit card is idle. 13 is my lucky number maybe next year.

You and I both thought we would be hunting elk in Utah this year.Well the only thing you can look at now is if alot of guys started jumping units with max points just wanting to get the elk hunt over with due to age objectives they will be out of the race for next year.If I were you I would be pissed but you can now hope alot of guys with max points drew this year so you wont have to compete with them next year.At least your brother drew and I wish you guys the best of luck this fall on his hunt.

Anyone have any experience with any of these areas? Could any be a poor choice with 3 points worth of investment?

I find this interesting on the NR pics, what magazines you boys reading? WTF is so damn great about 114,115 if it snows you aren't gettin in it's over rated, I also found it interesting that none of the local boys are spilling their guts, me included about their favorite spots wich are i'll bet none of the above but in this day and age you have to play the odds if ya want to hunt, actually I think the NR has the better odds with just a coouple of preference pts than the resident, just for the record out of all the above mentioned units none of them would of been my first or 2nd choice, good luck boys...Greg

Your right Greg, none of those areas, except maybe 22, has ever been my first choice but then again good bucks can be found in all of them. Even for a resident the odds of drawing late 114-115 is like trying to draw the Paunsagaunt or the AZ Strip but but it doesn't have the huge buck genetics.

Thanks. Good luck to you too. You might have a better chance than you think with them upping the non-res tags.

Its a frustrating experience watching through the spotter a 180+ buck in a meadow high on the west side of Wheeler knowing he was safely inside the park.

I always put in for 114/115. I was doing it before it was so "fashionable." I like the country and regardless of the weather, you can always hunt somewhere solid. And I put in for the areas in north Washoe. Dates/time are important to me and those areas all have dates that work. And as someone said, Nevada has solid bucks in all areas, so just plan to get lucky - in both the draw and the hunt. With only 2 points, it's not likely that I'll draw anyway. My big plans this year are Alberta and Colorado, plus at home in Wyo.

and all sheep i know ill have as much chance as cindy crawford bringing me a million dollar lottery ticket as i will getting a sheep tag. gotta dream though. i dont know the area very well but its close to home (idaho} so i would be able to scout .
