NV 231 Hermitage

LAST EDITED ON May-31-18 AT 11:09AM (MST)[p]My wife ended up drawing an early 231 bull tag, already have somewhat of a game plan of how to hunt the area. I was curious if anyone has stayed at the hermitage that time of year, Nov 6-20, and if so, how did it workout? Were you close enough to good elk country or did you find yourself driving long distances? If anyone has any tips I wouldn't turn them down either. This will be her first elk hunt, any insight on bull size? After reading through past posts and the tag stats, it seems finding a good 6x shouldn't be out of the question.

Hunted the unit in 2014 for elk archery tag. The hermatige is smack dab in the middle of as good of elk country as can be found on the unit.

I didn't stay with him but was going to later on in the huNt however, didn't need to do it. I will vouch for the owner being a great guy. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay there.

My son has drawn a cow tag for 231 12/5 - 1/5. We have ATV with tracks, sure would appreciate any info on area to concentrate on.
