Wasatch elk

A family member has drawn the wasatch archery LE tag. It's been a few years since we have been on this unit and would like some tips or any helpful information anyone would like to help us with. Not looking for honey holes or secret spots. Thanks in advanced!

Loyd! Great first post! Congrats on your tag! Contact the unit biologist he is a great help... if he can't lead you to a tied up 360 bull then pm me for a list of all my honey holes and secret spots.

There are 360 bulls in every canyon on the wasatch. Geesh all you have to do is get off the roads. Didn't you hear quality is going to be higher on the snatch this year then the San Juan and beaver unit combined

The Wasatch is maybe the one LE elk unit in Utah that people don't give out info for. I will guess it's because there are lots of tags, and they have friends or family hunting it nearly every year in some capacity.

Just apply normal elk hunting and scouting techniques and you'll be fine, good luck!

Tony I said correct in some ways.

It is over hunted, and most people like to keep "secret" spots secret!!!

I would help out (as I normally help one person per year) but I have a friend that has his daughter draw the late hunt.

Congrats on the tag. I would be happy to share some info if you want to send me a PM or something. Do you have an area you are planning or wanting to focus on over another? What part of the unit is closest to you? All this info can help narrow down the giant unit as well.

it still blows my mind how many people I run into during the elk hunts on this unit that are in panic mode. because there expectations are so high
and the wasatch is on a downward spiral the last 4 years
