Which is better??

I was just wondering what some of you think is the better line to use. Monofilament or that braided stuff like Fireline or Power Pro.

I use both. But I personally like the mono better.

It depends on what you're fishing for and where. If I'm combat fishing in some of Alaska's more popular areas, I will use the braided stuff as I have to "horse" them in faster. I will also use braided on faster moving creeks/rivers. If I have a place where I can play the big salmon, then I like the mono. Fishing in most of the lower 48 doesn't demand braided line. Plus, if you get a snag, you almost have to cut braided line. I have straightened hooks trying to pull a snag loose in Alaska.

I'm a mono dude. When fishing for kings, I change it after almost every trip. (If I had any success). About every third trip for every thing else.
