This is molly, she is my wifes trial project. And so she will quit stealing Addy from me. She's a little fireball that looks very promising!

looks like she ready to go.
She will be ready by fall for her first season. Like her coloring.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Good looking pup.

Be careful with the wing. The school of thought these days is let the pup point the wing once so you know it'll point, Let it point the wing a second time and take a picture. Then put the wing away. Dogs are suposed to point scent. The picture is for your friends

That said, my male was 7.5 months old his first chukar hunt and busted some birds my old dog pointed. That was on a wednesday. Thursday and Friday night I had him point the wing a dozen times each evening. Saturday rolls around and he was solid and has never broken since. I believe he "Just figured it out." But I'll never know.

Again, good looking pup. Good luck.

She has been on the wing twice. For pictures like you said. I've been watching how she has been acting with my chickens and the cat and I'm impressed! Her and the cat have figured out a game of hide and seek and to watch her catch the cat scent, trail it and point the vat is pretty cool at 8 weeks old.. I'm more and more impressed by her by the day!

LAST EDITED ON May-29-11 AT 10:58AM (MST)[p]Great!!!

I had GWPs for 28 years and swore by them. My last female was getting old and I couldn't find a litter at the right time of year so I got my first GSP. He exceeded all of my expectations. Now with the female pup, I feel like you, very confident. I'll never go back. Not saying GWPs aren't as good but my limited experience with the shorthair has been more than I ever hoped for.

The Shorthairs I'd been around before were so high strung, uncontrollable, I didn't want anything to do with them. I've come to realize it's more how they're raised than the breed. A lot less head strong then the wirehair.

When I got the pup a little over a month ago, my wife got a new boxer pup. I didn't want to raise 2 pups at the same time for tons of reasons but primarily because I was afraid they would imprint on each other rather than us. As it turns out I can call the pup to me and she responds immediately, even if she is wrestling with the boxer. When we walk them together the shorthair ignores the boxer and just explores the world for interesting scents.

Good luck with your pup!!!!!!!!

Justr_86, You were the one I was going to get a pup from?? Breeding didn't take??

Is the male a proven breeder?? If you have that problem again and are interested, let me know.

I can send you Chuck's pedigree, or better yet, meet you somewhere in Nevada this winter so you can see him and see him work on chukar.

Ya you were gonna get a pup from Me. I think it was more of a hurried breeding more than anything. Schedule conflicts for both the stud owner and I we didn't give them the romantic weekend they needed..

My wife and I both got a little impatient cause she wanted a dog of her own to hunt with this fall and I found this litter out of Colorado and got one..

Addy will go back to the same stud when she comes back in heat and I will be keeping a female pup from that litter. I probably won't have her bred again, 2 litters is plenty! I've had gsp's all my life, tried a weim and will never do that again! The way ALL the pups turned out from the first litter I will be keeping one because I can't pass up the opportunity.
