I considering picking up a new muzzleloader and have narrowed it down to the CVA wolf or Optima V2. Anyone have any experience with either of these
Thanks in advance

I have a CVA wolf and shot bh209 out of it. 1.5" groups at 100 with 300 gr parker BEs. Also have an optima elite (older optima) with longer barrel. Both are great guns, the wolf is nice because it is lite and cheap. Great gun for hiking with.

Actually trying to get rid of mine wolf since I built a sml savage .45 now.

I purchased a Accura V2 just before the Colorado muzzle loader season. Used the Federal bullet (270 grain) for Colorado and the weapon had good accuracy. Using the same Accura now during the Illinois firearm season and I am using Hornady SST saboted bullets in 250 grain weight. Almost unbelievable accuracy. Of course, I am using a scope on the Accura now but one inch groups at 100 yards are the standard. BlackHorn powder and a hot CCI 209 primer.

I say optima or save a few more dollars and get the accura. I've never shot a wolf but have not really heard anything bad about them. They seem to be a great value. Having said that my accura shoots extremely well and if ever I needed to replace it I would get another without hesitation.

I'd get the ACCURA 2!

I bought a CVA optima V2 with thumbhole stock this year and hunted deer with it back in September. I shot my buck at 248 yards using 100 grains of white-hot powder and a 250 grain power belt. Bullet made a clean pass through the vitals, deer tipped over and expired right there! I love the gun! easy to clean and the breech plug is easy to remove as well. I topped it with a 4-12 power scope....more than I needed, but the scope price was too good to pass up. My opinion, you cannot go wrong with this gun!

This was the entry hole at 248 yards....
