Would you mount this set?

Couple years ago i picked up a fresh brown single (left side). I picked it up and as i was looking for the other side and spotted a few deer moving into a draw. One of them was a buck packing his right side and had a big inline. Same color, same mass, same bladed long eye guard, and 200yds from where i found the shed. I watched him disappear and knew it was him and knew id be back! The following weekend i had drill for the Air National Guard so i had to wait 2 painfully long weeks to hit the hills again. When i did i searched for hours looking for the other side with no luck. I posted a few pics from that day and the sheds i found on here and a random member recognized the look to the antler and swore he saw a pic of another side on a different site. Said he thought it was a set. Long story short i tracked down the other guy, talked back and fourth, and he had the other side. Small world for sure! We ended up meeting up and going shed hunting together. We both wanted the other side pretty bad and after a couple years he finally gave it up to me. Im pretty lucky to have met him not only because he is a diehard hunter but because he was willing to part with one of the largest browns he had ever found to keep the set together. I have the set mounted on a mountain mikes but am tossing up the idea of mounting them. What would you do?

Buck scored:
93" right side
88" left side
Rough scored at 202"

Thats a great story and a nice set. It looks awesome as is, but would look good on a shoulder mount as well. When I found my 1st big set, 196, I shoulder mounted it, and since have done 5 other sets, plus 2 euros. Now I have no rooim for my 2 biggest sets. Choose wisely.

Theres logic, and theres women. They don't go together.

That is an awesome set! I like them on skulls better.

No disrespect or anything, but I don't think those sheds are sitting right on the skull you have them on. Your antlers are sitting as if the buck were looking right at you, however the skull is pointed downward. Imagine if you were to prop the skull up as it would be if the deer were looking forward. If you did that, the antlers would be pointed backward instead of straight up. Sometimes it's really hard to get sheds to sit on those skulls just right. I have had a few problems mounting them and sometimes you actually have to grind the base of skull down to make them fit right. Just thought I would throw that out there with no intentions to slam you or anything. I have just had a similar experience, so I thought I would share.

Yeah i noticed it after i mounted them. The peticles to the antlers are larger than the skull so i had to sand the antlers trying to get the right angle and then hold the skull with my hand, an antler with the my knees, and then drill it with the other so thats why i couldnt get it exact. Its tough.

I definitely would get a shoulder mount. Make the antlers detachable and if you ever get a bigger set you can change out the antlers. fatrooster.
