Question

Anyone ever shed hunt the pauns for elk sheds? I recently moved to Nevada and have family in southern utah. I had a few spots in northern utah which were pretty decent before I moved. I'm not asking for any tips on where to go. I'm just curious if anyone has had success with the pauns and if so maybe you could post some pics. Thank you!

Hey Ekim4. I don't mean to be a wet rag, but asking about sheds will get you less information than if you ask about actual hunting areas.

If you live near the Paunsy, I'd just review maps and find public ground in the winter range, and head in there as soon as possible. At this point in the year, I'm sure its been worked over pretty well as Utah has no "season" for sheds.

If guys have ever posted picks of elk sheds on this forum from the Paunsy, they would never say that's where they were from. I'm sure there have been plenty picked up down there though. So take a short trip and just have some nice hiking...
