This is a general unit public land buck that has managed to elude hunters, predators, and survive several winters. The top shed is one of his first sheds. I'm guessing he was a 2 or 3 year old buck when he grew it. I only found singles for his last 2 years. I'm guessing this buck lived to be 7-9 years old. This buck dropped all these sheds in about a 600 yard radius of each other. It has been fun going back to the same spot the last few years and finding this bucks sheds knowing he made it another year. This year I didn't find any of his sheds. Makes me wonder if a hunter got lucky or if this buck just got old and died of natural cause.

I'm just curious how many of you have found consecutive years off of one buck?

Only one incident so far. I found a matched set of brown antlers lying together in 2012. After gathering a bunch of antlers in the same vicinity, I was able to determine I had the set from 2011 as well. Also, a year apart, I found matched sets in nearly the same exact spot, but they were clearly not the same deer.

That's a lot of years off one buck! This post brings back a lot of memories of a buck I spent a ton of time trying to get and never could seal the deal.

I found a single from 07/08 (my guess is he was 3 years old at the time), couldn't find either of his 08/09 sheds but did see him many times that winter, picked up his 09/10 set that scores in the low 190's, found a single from 10/11, couldn't find either of his 11/12 sheds, and in the fall of 2012 my friend shot him on the last day of the general season rifle hunt.

2010/11 was the biggest he got, if I could find the other side he would be just over/under 200". In 2012 when my friend got him he started to regress and ended up scoring a little over 187".
