I know I'm probably unlikely to get any secret honey holes or special free advice, but thats not really what I'm looking for. Just somewhere to start, I'm not afraid of putting my time in to get to know an area, do lots of hiking, actually I prefer it that way, farther away from other hunters. I've just never hunted this area, have hunted the desert units north for muleys many times, but never coues in 33. I got the late nov/early dec tag, nothing special but was wonering if anyone familiar with the area would be willing to share some knowledge, either general or specific for this hunt. Worth a try.

What was to motivation to put in for a unit with no knowledge of what to expect?

if you are willing to hike I would check out any area that borders Saguaro National Monument - East. In no particular order, West side, North side, East side or South side. Lots of good bucks around the fenceline that do not get that much pressure because there are not many roads to hunt from.
