treestand - mineral lick or water

hey everybody..
I am in the process of setting up my scouting routine... What do you think is more important when setting up a early season stand?? Mineral Licks or Water???

Putting a mineral lick at a remote waterhole is an excellent method. I've used this method and it works. Believe it or not, three years ago on an early archery deer hunt, I ran into a Game and Fish officer. He was checking out archery hunters. I was headed back to camp for a drink. He said out of 5 coues deer killed on that particular weekend, all were taken between 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. With that information, I returned to camp got a drink and headed back out to my treestand over a waterhole. I hadn't been in my treestand for 10 minutes when a nice 70 to 75 point coues buck csme in to water. I took him at 40 yards. The time was 12:30 P.M.
