Thoughts on unit 22

Hi guys,

I finally drew unit 22 for whitetail. It only took 8 years? Now that I have this tag I dont want to blow it! I have seen 3 large whitetails (over 100) in passed years, always scouting for other hunts (ie elk). What is your thoughts on deer size for 22? Are 95 plus pretty common?? I have been looking in the same areas of the passed big deer, but nothing to speak of yet! Maybe they have been killed already! Talked with 2 different guides (interview to hire) and they both made me feel big deer are hard to come. Maybe there customer dont put in the time like we do and they will shoot anything?

I'm not passing this along to discourage you, but went with two tag holders last year and hunted nearly the entire season. Best that they could do (with help from a couple other people) was two bucks in the high 70's. Really made me change my first choice this year! Good luck.

Unit 22 has been shot out real bad. A 95 incher? There is a one horned spike under the rim that may go 6". The other 89" fell off when he got tangled in a fence.
