What to expect in NM unit 27

I lucked out and drew a unit 27 any weapon coues deer permit and was wondering if anyone has hunted this unit and could tell me what to expect. Also, how big of a buck to I hold out for? Any info would be appreciated. Also any outfitters or guides down there worth booking with? Thanks,

VERY LIMITED ACCESS! The best bet for a successful hunt is to pack in. Hike in 4-6 miles and set up a base camp to hunt out of. This will get you into the areas with the bigger bucks. Email me if you have any questions... we hunted it last year. [email protected]

You can expect to see alot of illegals. One of my favorite places to hunt but the deer numbers are down

Huntscout is very correct.
The landowners will lie and mess with
you around the roads. So the best way to
avoid that, is get the heck away from them as
fast as you can.

There's access, but they don't want you to know about it.

Take good land access maps with you, and if they mess with
you, call them on it.
