Very nice buck!!!

Here we go again on boundaries......

these are the blacktail boundaries for Ca. Anything west and north if this line is acceptable as blacktail.

beginning in Siskiyou County at the Oregon-California border, the boundary lies between townships R8W and R9W M.D.M. extending south to and along the Klamath river to Hamberg, then south along the road to Scott Bar, continuing south and then east on the unimproved road from Scott Bar to its intersection with the paved road to Mugginsville, then south through Mugginsville to State highway 3, which is then followed to Douglas City in Trinity County, from which the line runs east on state highway 299 to interstate 5. The line follows I-5 south to the area of Anderson, where the Sacramento River moves east of I-5, following the Sacramento River until it joins with the San Joaquin River, which is followed to the south border of Stanislaus County. The line then runs west along this border to the east border of Santa Clara County. The east and south borders of Santa Clara County are then followed to the south border of Santa Cruz County, which is then followed to the edge of Monterey Bay.

Yes, I am aware of that, however, it is very easy to tell the differance between blacktail and muledeer, especially in areas where they overlap. If you look at the buck in the picture, blacktail feature are easy to ascertain. I have watched this buck for years, I have pictures of him in the velvet as well. The buck is a brute and he is mean. He has very good genes, and has past them on to his son. The deer has a very small head, and wights is about 150, with the hooks he's probably right at 30", I have been within 15 yards of him. I am trying to find his sheds. Does not matter what you do, there is always somebody who thinks they are sharper that the rest.

Why haven't you taken this buck. Is he one of those deer who disappears during the season only to reappear like 1 day after it's over? He'd be one hell of a wall hanger. I'm assuming that he is the dominant. Does the whole herd have good genes like this guy or is he an outstanding figure? This second buck that was posted, is it one of his son's?

Yes it is his son, in the same area, you can tell by looking at him, his bases and other features. I could probly get permission to hunt him, but he has been around so long, and lives close to me, so I guess I would rather watch him, he,s the one servicing all the does.

Wow! They don't grow like that on my ranch, no matter how long I let them live. Great buck.
