Bee Zone How was your hunt?

My buck did not show.....yet. Saw two forkies, plenty of does and one bear. Could not git a shot at the bear. Maybe next time.

Thursday the 20th Camp staged an operation in my area. Used a helicopter. The hunting was not good.

With the explosion in the mexican mafia pot grows in the B zones its no surprise. hmmmmm..... wonder if there is a coincidence between the growth of these gardens and the lack of animals some people are complaining about? (rhetorical question...;) )

Did not effect me got a 3x3 on the bow opener and 3x2 in the rain on Wednesday. Found a poached 6x6 elk too, only the backstraps and one ham were taken. Called F&G, they actually told me that it happens all the time and there was nothing they could do? Great!

Camp was staging at the Berry summit vista point as I was driving in for the afternoon hunt.

Good luck and be safe.

I hope this thread was open to everyone, if I stepped on a perosonal thread I apologize.

I was VERY lucky and shot a nice 4x3 opening day, he had 6" bases and carried his mass all the way up, not a huge buck but a nice Blacktail. I missed a really nice buck the second day of season, no excuses I just screwed up. My buddy shot a decent Forked horn on Monday, not a bad start to the season. We got a little rain Wednesday but it didn't help us we saw just doe's. It's supposed to rain Saturday but I can't go hunting I have other obligations ( NOT HAPPY!).

Good luck to everyone I hope you all have a great season.

Slide,

You opinions and reports are always welcome! Sounds like you took a bruiser.......6"bases! Nice. Good to hear others are seeing the bucks and putting a couple down. I hope it rains up here in Humboldt this weekend, have a couple buddies that are still looking for buck number one.

Hunted the opener of B zone in the Trinity Alps.
Saw six bucks opening day, good ones, but no bruisers so I held my fire.
Tough, tough hiking.
All in all not a bad hunt, I hope to go back in a few weeks.
