Hey guys, I'm just wondering if there are some decent cameras for video out there for a few hundred bucks... I have a handheld JVC Everio which I have shot video on for 3 years now. Its up to 720p it says, but I'd really like better quality. I'm not looking for professional grade, just something that will give me better quality.

I like having a good zoom so that I can just use the camera without an adapter out to several hundred yards. Any thoughts or recommendations..?

Also, if you have recommendations about video editing. I have Corel Video Studio ProX3 that came on my 2 year old laptop. I have liked it, but it doesn't let me import mp4 videos which is all my smartphone does. It also only does up to 720x640 resolution, and I would like better.

Any recommendations so I can improve my video quality would be great. Thanks guys.

get yourself a Canon Vixia. there are many models, and are priced fairly well. if you want zoom maybe the R400 or R300. pretty much everything is going to be full HD nowadays.

as for editing, I've always used sony vegas. it can handle pretty much all the latest HD formats, just make sure you are recording at the highest possible quality. then just learn how to render and export your final work as high quality as whatever you are going to play it on will allow.
