Chest pain question

Just curious if anyone has experienced a sharp pain under their peck muscle from shooting too much. That is the only thing I can think of causing it. I have never had it before. Maybe a pulled muscle in the rib? It only hurts when I breathe deep. Just curious thanks!

Lots of possibilities...pulled intercostal muscle, walking pneumonia...or worst case scenario, angina from a partially blocked coronary artery.

Stay mobile and stretched...it might go away in a day or 2. If you start feeling really bad...go to the E.R.!

Best of Luck,

I had chest pain a few years ago from shooting too much. I self-diagnosed costochondritis.

Now I just make sure to stretch before I shoot and haven't had problems since. It still took the rest of the bow season before it totally cleared up.

Thanks for the replies, grizzly I think its going to stick around too. i'll keep icing and heating for a couple more days, if it sticks around after that I will just deal with it. I will just slow down a bit on the shooting. Its in my back too but thats not uncommon. I was just a bit worried, hoping someone else experienced this, so thank you for your input
. Good luck this year!

Good luck with your treatment. I had enough pain in my back that I originally thought I had injured my back as the primary injury and not my ribs. I figured it was a weird nervous reaction that made it hurt in my chest. I later decided the pain was in the front, but I felt it in my back as a secondary response. After about 3 weeks without shooting, the back pain went away and it stayed in my chest.

I found if I laid on my left side with my left arm up under my head while watching TV, it would flare up to the point that my ribs/sternum would pop (like a knuckle) when I rotated my shoulder down. I think this was part of the inflammatory response.

The pain and symptoms went away, but took longer than I thought. Probably about six months.

Just to be clear, I'm not a doctor, but I do play one on MonsterMuleys.com
