New 2014 Bowtech bows

What does every one think of the new Bowtech RPM 360 and Carbon Overdrive? They look pretty cool to me but the RPM is a bit on the heavy side. Thanks

I don't get the 5 oz thing people have, put a 5 oz lighter stab or no stab on it. Hell I pack around a 30lb pack when I go huntin, how the heck is 5 or 6 oz going to make any difference. If you don't like the extra weight on your bow, use a hip or back quiver. A quiver on a bow just gets in the way as far as I'm concerned.

What you just said makes no sense at all. While I do agree the 5 extra ounce shouldn't be a deciding factor. People don't put stabs on to make bows heavier. They put them on to reduce vibration and reduce the backlash of the bow when releasing an arrow or to offset weight from a quiver. I haven't shot the bow but I would suspect the 360 fps speed bow needs a good stab with some weight on it. The one good thing about a light bow is the ability to put less weight out front and have a stable bow and keeping the over all weight down.

I shoot both a D340 and an Experience without a stab with no vibe or kick or need of balance. I don't shoot comp, only hunt, but shoot out to 80 or more yds regularly, so, no 5 or 6 oz mean nothing. Makes all the sense in the world to me. I haven't shot the bow either so I don't know what it feels like, but 4.4 lbs is not what I'd consider heavy. If it won't shoot without a stabilizer who needs it.

Okay dude. It's common knowledge what stabs offer. You can argue up and down you don't need a stab but you would laughed at by most archers. There is a reason people use them and can assure you its not because they thought to their self.... hey this bow feels about 10 oz light. I'm gonna screw this thing into my riser and make it heavier. I'm not saying you can't shoot the bow without one but I garentee if you find the right stab the bow will shoot and feel better.

Ok DUDE, thanks for YOUR opinion. Stabilizers are a waste of money. And I could care less what most archers think, fair enough! If the bow you shoot is balanced and doesn't have a quiver on it to unbalance it, stabs are a myth for hunting purposes. My opinion!!!

Not just my opinion. Probably the opinion of 99% of archers. What do I know... After all... we should take your advice... because you shoot 80 yards. Go tell all the pros like Levi Morgan that the don't need their stabs or side bars. Tell them it's a myth. Lol come on man!

I know one thimg... probably the last bow in the world I would skimp on a stab would be a 360 fps speed bow.

To get back to op. I think it looks pretty good for a tree stand hunter or blind hunter. I just don't like how bow companies are Makin short ata bows. I would like to see more options in the 34 to 36 range! Seems like everything is gearing more towards tree stand hunters imo.

Who's this Levi feller, get him on the line and we can discuss it!
I don't care what 99% of archers say, I only care what I feel and see. If I need a stabilizer to shoot my bow accurately at any distance, then I probably won't own that bow. If I wanted to shoot a bow that rolled forward after the shot I'd buy a mathews, if I wanted a bow that hit me in the face after the shot I'd buy an invasion and then hang a 10oz stab out front, no thanks! Why pack around an add on weight, then whine about the bow being to heavy.

All I can do is laugh at your ridiculous logic. Do a Google search on Levi morgan. You might learn something. You honestly think all the target shooters are spending all this money on stabs just because? Or would logic tell you...hmm maybe they do it for a reason? Come on man... you can't be that ignorant and hard headed to think you know everything. You obviously have never put on a quality stab and actually shot it. Probably just a pos limbs aver and that's why you have a bad taste in your mouth.

I think they look awesome too, and wouldn't worry too much about the weight. I just bought a new Experience after shooting a Destroyer for a few years.....but will see how the new Carbon OD does this year!! It may need a year to get kinks worked out!!

Let me put it this way, who gives a rats ass who Levi Morgan is, he has nothing to do with how I use or shoot a bow. I've put on every stab that the the local dealer has had in,long and short, ya know what, worthless as far as hunting is concerned just added weight. If you feel like spending money, you're more than welcome too. Guarantee I can hit exactly the same spot with a stab as without. Put a heavy arrow through your bow to absorb the energy and you're good to go, still get plenty of speed also, especially out of a bow with this kind of ibo specs. Heavy arrows, don't pack the extra weight, pretty simple.

It is easy.....Shoot whatever weights feel good to you. Solved.

Well said. Everyone is different when it comes to bows. Stab, no stab, who really gives a chit. As far as the new line up of bows from bowtech goes I don't think im going to be jumping ship to the RPM. Still to in love with my experience and Im not much of a fan of the 6 inch brace height. Primary reason why I chose the experience over the insanity. But ill have to shoot them and then decide for myself. Only have shot the carbon knight once and was fairly impressed, still liked the experience better though.

I also shoot an experience, but just shot the 360 this past week at the NABA show. Those dang bowtech guys are going to get me divorced if I have to buy another bow this year! I love the new 360. WOW WOW!!

LAST EDITED ON Feb-24-14 AT 03:23PM (MST)[p]I think bowtech hit a home run with this speed bow if it actually hits what they say it will hit.

Shot it today set on 29" draw and 60 lbs. The draw is 2" to big for me so I expected to slap my arm with its physically measured 5 3/4" brace height. So I put an arm guard on and shot it without anything attached except the biscuit.

The bow is quiet, smooth, no vibrations. It also didn't want to rip my arm off when I relaxed. Valley is just right. The bow has an ever so small kick to the side that could be fixed with a very tiny stabilizer. Im being really picky when I say small kick. The bow feels top heavy or top front heavy with nothing attached. It would probably sit level with my tight spot quiver full of arrows attached so its not a problem.

Ive heard people complain about the weight and grip. I two was skeptical of both. The grip actually feels ok better than I thought it would. Its still ugly imho! Weight wasn't a problem for me. Maybe because my target bows are heavy. If you balance it out properly it will feel light imho.

I would have no problem hiking this bow around to the top of the wasatch front going for big muley bucks.

If the bow tunes an arrow at my draw like my trusty mathews lx I may have one in my stable. I just want to try it in 70 lbs with my gear attached before I drop a grand on a poor tuning poor performing bow. I think it will pass my test with flying colors though.

ps
I forgot to mention cam lean. The bow at rest had no lean that I could tell in top or bottom cams. Maybe because the string fit the groves. At full draw the bottom cam had no lean. The top cam had a touch. I could however get the lean out with a twist in the right yoke if I wanted. This bow is a very tunable bow compared to a lot of bows out.

Did i say its 45 fps faster than my old trusty hunting bow. Its also way quieter.

who farted?

I shot the 360 today for the first time. Holy smokes. I swear they must be organically generating energy because that bow draws so smooth and was so free of shock at the shot... it seems impossible it is getting the speed it is getting. I seriously don't know where the energy even comes from.

Great bow from Bowtech.

This makes no sense, but 10 years ago me and most my buddies were shooting mathews. One guy got a bow tech. It sounded like a canon going off and he never killed anything with that piece of sh!t. Now I'm sure they have come a long ways and are probably good bows today, but I never shot one and couldn't buy one even if I fell in love with it.

Makes no sense, but I laugh every time I hear bow tech. Who is that tall guy from Washington or Oregon on TV that is sponsored by bow tech? That guy is so intense and annoying he drives me nuts. Put the two together and I'm sorry, no bow tech in this household.

No offense to those that have them and love them, I'm sure they are nice, just a quirk of mine.

I would have to say the same thing about a mathews. Ugly as hell, grip sucks, something a midget would shoot, and a whole lot of dinks shooting them on tv.

Oh, by the way no offense.

Destoryer350, thanks man! Now I gotta clean the coffee off of my keyboard! Thas some funny $hit right there! LOL

I love it, no offense taken. Glad to be part of spilling coffee and laughing.

How come there isn't a string for Martin archery, isn't that what Uncle Ted shoots?

I switched from Mathews to the Experience this year. They need to change their slogan "Catch us if you can" LMAO they have been left behind!!!

Just ordered my bowtech 360 today. We'll see if a big old Boulder bull can handle it this fall
