I have drawn a tag for henry mountain archery in Utah. I was wondering about the time the big muleys lose their velvet in this region, or if it would be best to hunt first part of season or later towards the end?

If I had that tag, I'd be up there the entire season! You arguably have the best archery mule deer tag in the world.

They will start loosing their velvet the first week of September. You need to get down there and hunt. I would take the whole hunt off and yes, you have the best tag for mule deer arguably money can buy less AI.

Last year I was down there the last week in August and a lot of the bucks had either rubbed completly or were starting. As the others said I would be there the whole hunt! Good luck
