Does anyone out there have any personal review of the boss hogg? I'm thinking about getting the single pin here soon, I've heard that there can be some possible issues with quiver clearance. It looks like a great sight, i'm also a little worried about the sight being too heavy And possibly throwing my shot off some. Any input, likes or dislikes?

LAST EDITED ON May-05-15 AT 04:18PM (MST)[p]I can't say anything about the Spot Hogg (which I think is a fine sight by looks), but I shoot s Sure-loc Sportsmans Special and love it. Moving to a single pin slider was the best move I have ever made with my bow hunting equipment. I am 3 for 3 on elk (all over 320" bulls) and 4 for 4 on deer with it. I have heard some people say they are too slow, but I have never had a problem and all my hunting is spot and stalk.

So I actually, have been hunting with the sure-loc for the last 5 years now, it's been a great sight, I do love the single pin as well especially for spot and stalk. Last season, i started having some issues with that sight, the overall durability of my sure-loc is not all the way there for me especially on extended backcountry hunts. From what I hear spot hogg builds a nearly bomb proof sight. To me that would be more confidence that my sights will hold up for many more hunts then what I've used before.

I hear ya. I love the Sure-loc, but it could be built a little simpler so you do not have so many failure points. I think the only issue with the spot hogg I have seen is arrow quiver clearance issues, but you can get around that with a extension bar I think.

I just looked at their website and if I were you I would go with the Hogg Father if arrow clearance issues are of concern. it would be for me.

Steepandeep did you end up getting the Spott Hogg? I ended up ordering a Hogg Father yesterday after a screw came loose on my Sureloc. This is the second time this has happened with this sight. I am just not willing to take the chance of it happening on my elk hunt. the Sureloc is a nice sight, but given I am back packing in and will not have access to tools (many tools) I want a bullet proof set up. Nothing is bullet proof, but the Spott Hogg sights are about as close as you can get.

If you did get it let me know what your thoughts are. I have read and heard nothing but good things about the Hogg Father sight.

So I ended up getting tommy hogg, it fit my bow setup better then the boss. So far I love this sight, it was easy to mount, the sight tapes are simple and didn't take much time to dial in. The micro adjustments are simple in design and no tools needed. Overall I prefer spot hogg over any other sight I've used. It's a super tough sight! You'll love your hogg father.
