BRIAN, YOU GOT THE DALL SHAKES ALREADY...I CAN TELL. YOU BETTER PACE YOURSELF SON OR YOUR GOING TO DRIVE THE FAMILY NUTS. AUG. OF 07 IS A LONG WAYS OFF, BE SURE TO TAKE SOME BEAR MEDICINE. WE HAD BIG BEARS AROUND US EVERY DAY, NOT INSIDE 30 YARDS THOUGH. READ ALL YOU CAN, TAKE TONS OF PICS, TAPE, MOLESKIN,MEDS, VITIMINS, LIP BALM, SCENT COVER, BUG DOPE, JERKY,& GOOD GLASS. IT HELPS TO BE IN SHAPE, BUT.... MENTAL TOUGHNESS & THE ABILITY TO MAKE A KILL SHOOT OVER 400 YARDS IS MOST IMPORTANT. MAX IS GONNA WALK YOUR ARSE OFF, IF ITS ONE OF HIS YOUNGER GUIDES IT WILL BE EVEN TOUGHER. PACE YOURSELF...YD.

Don't worry about the gear. I have been working on getting the best light weight gear I can get. August 07 will be here before you know it, and I will be ready to go. Whoever is guiding me, be it Max, Doyle, or the new young dude Jeremy, I will make it up the mountain at my best pace. I will kill a Dall ram, or die trying! lol

YD:

I asked Max about about the average shot last year. He laughed and said about 15 yards! lol He said anything more then a bow and arrow complete with a loin cloth would be unsporting!
Seriuosly, I will practice at different distances. I am going to Glacier National Park in July. Hopefully I will see my first griz. I am hoping to see a real griz in the wild when I am in Alaska, but not at close range!!!

Archer, Thanks. Just imagine what the 360 degree view was like. I did that hunt last August up in the AK range.

TB awesome ram and awesome story!

Who do you guys reccomend/use for outfitters? I have a few in mind and plan to book a hunt very soon, for as soon as possible, which I think will be 2010. I too am very excited to go!
