I'm looking for a reasonably priced sleeping bag under $200. 20 degree range. But, I'm 6'2", 225 and have wide shoulders. I don't want to be super confined.

I like the North Face Cats Meow bag. Synthetic 20 degree. I'm 6'3" 225 and it fits me fine. Just get the Long version of the bag. Its a great value and you can find them on sale online. Cant go wrong with it.

I'm 6'2" 235. My main bag is the Big Agnes Lost Ranger. Regular length is just long enough. Lots of room in the upper body area. Throw in an BA air core pad and you're in for a good nights sleep.

Check out Cabelas Alaskan Guide in the rectangular version. Rated to 40 below, but I doubt you would be warm at that temp. I used mine elk hunting last year and I stayed nice and warm when temps dipped to single digits.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-28-12 AT 07:30PM (MST)[p]I have Kelty,Marmot, and Cabellas Trekker bags.I'm same size, lighter, big shoulders. All have enough room for me.I get the tall sizes on most things. Depends on how you'll use it. Go to a REI,any backpacking store and ask to check them out,get in it,roll around.I wound up buying two bags in one store.Clearance sale. But I found what works, then bought from Cabellas,CampMor,and REI too. I have 5 different bags for different uses and temps, never spent $200 on any.

If you plan on being warm in 20* then you should get a 0* bag. Whatever the rating is, to be comfortable go 20* warmer.
ie; You plan on sleeping in 0* weather, go -20*

Chas, I purchaced a new Cabela's Magnum 44 a few month's back.
44"x90", with loft insulation and a soft zip out fleece liner if you want to remove it. It has a canvas shell and it's -20F rated. Now I can not use it for my intended purpose (horse back pack in) so if you are interested I would sell it. It sells for $229.00 at Cabela's but I would sell it for $150.00. Best of all, it has never been slept in or even gotten into by myself, virtually brand new. If interested - 435-635-7657, Mark.

Is the bag going to be carried or used from the truck? I recommended the BA Lost Ranger, but I was in backpacking mode. If you're not gonna be carrying it, get a big ole rectangular model. I have a couple of Guide Gear -30 degree bags and Cabelas 3" pads, when we stay in the big tent. Hard to get out of bed in the morning.

Horseback hunts, I use a cowboy roll with my bag never seems to get cold and it keeps the bag dry and clean.

Now BassPro is sending me a bag to try out as a tester in about 4 weeks. Never have done this before.
