Horse saddle

Anyone have a trail saddle they like? After many years of using an old circle y saddle I'm ready to buy something comfortable. Been thinking about a Tucker but don't know much about higher end saddles.

Thanks!

Like anything else it's how much do you want to spend. the problem with saddles is it's like boots, even high end ones are no good if the don't fit you, and your horse.

I used to rida A LOT and at one point I broke down and had a couple custom saddles made, worth every penny and I'll use them the rest of my life.

I see good saddles on craigslist from time to time, a good broke in one that you can try before you buy is hard to beat.

Stay thirsty my friends

Billy Cook saddles are pretty darn good for a semi-custom western...If you are riding a lot especially mountain miles, the money put into a high quality saddle is well worth every penny.

Couple of decades ago I bought a saddle for mtn hunting. Its an old bronk busting saddle with high cantle and pretty big swells. That think save my bacon several times, like crossing a creek and the mule I was dragging didnt come. Anyway that thing set great. It was a little heavy with almost a full skirt. I always wanted a new custom calvary style saddle, just didnt get around to it. If your serious about this for the long haul . Look at them

I really like the High Back it seems to keep your A$$ in the saddle alittle better when the wreck happens.

Corriente ranch roper saddles are pretty comfortable and have a higher back and swells too. My son used one when he rode ranch broncs. Now I use it for most all my riding.
