"Has anyone used the goTenna in the mountains"

I've read reviews online but there aren't many who have used it in the rugged mountains. I'm looking to read from those who have experience with these devices in a hunting/backpacking/hiking setting

I also have been looking at this. It sounds great in theory but not sure it would be able to send/receive messages in mountainous terrain....

I'm wondering it's range capabilities in a hunting/scouting scenery as well.
