Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40

Hey everyone,
I have read a few different threads about a scope for a .17hmr but I don't know if I feel I have gotten my answer. So I gotta ask again. I have been looking at the Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40. Is this too much scope for a .17hmr??? What are your recommendations?

I dont think so. They are great scopes and reasonablly priced. I wouldn't hesitate if I had one. I would think most of the shooting with a caliber like that would be for small varmits and I think the higher magnification would help.
