Pentax PF-80ED-A Spotting Scopes

Does anyone have any experience with these spotters? I see lots of praise for the scope from birders, astronomers and even target shooters, but I have yet to see any real reviews from the hunting community. I haven't been able to get my eyes on one yet, so I am hoping someone has used this thing hunting out west and can provide some real feedback. Thanks!

I have the straight and love it for looking but not so much for packing. Haha.

Very clear! I have not directly compared it to any of the euros but I don't see any shortcomings that could be taken up by them.

I love the fact that I can use any 1.25" astronomic telescope eyepiece in it. I have the variable that came with the scope but i love the fixed wide angle lens i purchased later.

What fixed eyepiece do you have? Is it one of the Pentax XW series or another astronomy brand? What power or focal length is it?

I am thinking I want a similar setup - 20-60 zoom eyepiece with a wide angle fixed for glassing, say a 24mm.

Would you recommend your set up to a friend?

It's the XW-14 and it is about 35x or 36x but the field of view is huge! I compared it to the variable and it's fild of view was wider than the variable turned down around 20x. It is crystal clear.

I use it to glass and it is awesome. Very little to complain about. I was torn on it or the XW-20 at about 25x. I can only imagine the field of view on that one.
